#OK WAIT JUST A MOMENT I NEED TO EXPRESS SOMETHING HERE #flash is always the asshole #in the old trilogy they never bothered to even make him semi-redeemable in any way #he was just there to make Peter look weak and then after the bite make him look unbearably strong #but not this time #no this time the writers remembered that he’s a human #that he and peter have history #that Flash probebly knew Uncle Ben and thought he was kinda cool #That he didn’t hate peter at all he was just too proud to accept that they could maybe get along #to proud to let his jock friends and his hot girls see him being nice to a dweeb #he doesn’t hate peter #he grew up with peter #he’s seen peter grow and change and frankly is probably worried because suddenly this little welp of a kid who always enbarassed him is n… #and now he’s lost the most important man in his life #flash probably knows exactly how that feels #bullies often have soured relationships with their parents or have no parents at all #so hes finally got something to talk to peter about #finally has a chance to tell him that its going to be ok #it might be a bit too late #but hes trying #he cares #he doesn’t let go even when peter sets him down #because why would he let go when peter’s about to snap and start to cry #even if he’s big and manly and proud he knows peter’s hurt #and being alone when you’re hurt is the worst sort of suffering there is #even the popular arse knows that #Im not even sorry this part right here made me cry more than when gwen tried to comfort him #this means more because this is a life long conflict finally come to a climax #and Flash Thompson became the better man in the end
